A highly significant, historic, and strategic step in Türkiye-China tourism relations!
Müberra Eresin, President of the Turkish Hotel Owners Association (TÜROB), stated that the visa exemption for Chinese citizens is a "historic and strategic step" for Turkey-China tourism relations, and that they expect the implementation to significantly increase the number of Chinese tourists and tourism revenues.
Eresin stated that the visa exemption would particularly boost individual travel, saying, “Thanks to this decision, we expect a significant increase in the number of Chinese tourists and per capita spending. We believe that this implementation will significantly increase Turkey’s competitiveness in the Chinese market.” Touching upon developments in air transportation, Eresin added, “The weekly passenger flight rights between Turkish Airlines and Chinese airlines have been increased from 21 to 49. This increased flight capacity, combined with the visa exemption, will rapidly boost tourism activity.”
Eresin emphasized that TÜROB continues its work for the sector, stating, "We are resolutely continuing our efforts to provide language support, staff training, and improve service standards so that our Chinese guests feel safe and at home in Turkey."
